MLK vs. Malcolm X

Martin Luther King Jr had a way to get people to follow him in a way that can be said risky yet worth it for great results. Malcolm X style was a little different as he was convinced that he wanted to stop segragation in any mean. MLK would give really inspiring speeches like I had a dream which catches a lot of people support but in Malcolm X case he was harsh and violent speeches to stop in any means necessary the treatment they received from white people. For example, if someone punches you than MLK would want you to hug him because you would win and they would lose but in Malcolm X case he would want you to punch him right back.

Divide for meritocracy

To be honest I dont believe in this as to the article of the third grader where they were divided into two by blue eyes and brown eyes. That has nothing to do of being more talented than someone else its just the effort you put in that really counts. For example, people would think if you divide a class with blondes on one side and black hair on the other that the blondies will lose but if they worked harder they have as equal chances as anyone else. So meritocracy is not something that I believe just a theory that can be accurate in some cases. Now for the American Dream is what people always want like a dog, two loving children, and parents that are together. This is not easily achieve as this is just as well a meritocracy of people theories of how one should live their lives as normal.

Jena and Little Rock

What really shocks me of the Jena article is the fact of people just beating up other students just because they have different skin color which really annoys me. Little Rock was just as bad and they both had to do with segragation. White students had always had trouble going to the same school with black students back than. These two situations are a great significance of the lead up to the civil rights to stop segragation for all just to be equal.

Rockwell's hole in the fence

One day when Norman Rockwell was a young 13-year old boy that went to school on a friday. He met this kid who moved in recently, he was wearing a baseball cap on Norman asks him "Hey there are you a baseball fan" in which he responded "I sure am, love baseball". Norman introduced himself to him and he responded "Nice to meet you my name is Johnny, listen do you wanna go to a game after school, my big brother plays and he can probably get us in for free". Norman was excited and said yes, as the day go by they met up outside the front of school. They grabbed their bikes and started to paddle their way to the ball park to meet up with his brother. Johnny asked his brother if they could go in and watch it for free. His brther starts to laugh and said "No way lil bro, If coach finds out theyll probably kick me out of the team, sorry". Norman and Johnny were very dissapointed as they started to walk their bikes back their home but than they realized a hole in the fence were they might have a chance. They checked it out and they could see everything that was going on inside the park as his brother was pitching so it ends good for the both of them to be a great day after all.

1950's were sexism happens

In 1956 Ambush Perfume had a saying that said "A romance in every bottle." yet when you see the picture you can obviously tell it has sexism. A picture of the women Dana is staring at her perfume but the funny thing is theres a man inside that bottle and it says "Ambush...the tender trap". This can have different meanings as to women can get any man to fall for them or that they like to control men around so why not trap them and release them when they want. Men probably thought of women to controling back in the days therefore causing some sexism advertisement to show off mens tru potential.
